If you have been following us for any amount of time, you know that what we put on our bodies is almost as important as what we put in our bodies. Self care is any act you take to better your emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. We are always shopping for new products to try so for those of you looking for a way to support BIPOC brands and dabble into changing up your beauty routine, here are some that you can easily find at Sephora:
- Briogeo – Nancy Twine launched her brand at Sephora in 2014 at age 29, making her the youngest African-American to introduce a product line at that store. The products were inspired from her own family recipes and started in her East Village kitchen in 2013. Her natural products can be used by people with all hair types and textures.
- Fenty Beauty by Rihanna – unless you live under a pop culture rock, you probably have already heard of this brand. We truly love it and love how inclusive it’s line of foundation is for all shades of people to utilize in their everyday routines. Her liquid lippies don’t budge and we’re obsessed with her flyliner.
- KNC Beauty -Founded by Kristen Noel Crawley, KNC Beauty. The biracial former beauty columnist was inspired to bring back some of her beauty finds from a trip she took to Tokyo. We love bringing the lip and eye masks with us for long flights because who doesn’t love to self-care while a million miles up in the air?
- Pat McGrath Labs – Makeup artist Pat McGrath launched her beauty line in 2015 and has been sold at Sephora since 2017. Raised in England by her Jamaican immigrant mother, McGrath even admitted to having to resort to applying cocoa powder on her face due to limited color options for darker-skinned people. Her products have a huge range of varying shades.
